Ways out of crisis and back into life

Because unprocessed traumatic experiences take up a great deal of energy in everyday life and in relationships, professional trauma therapy can bring noticeable relief. In my therapeutic work I support people in processing traumatising experiences of varying severity, easing anxiety and gaining a new quality of life.

My qualifications in trauma therapy

Through my thorough further training “Arbeit mit traumatisierten Menschen” at the Praxis Institut Nord (with Alexander Korittko, Zentrum für Psychotraumatologie und Traumatherapie Niedersachsen) I have a broad range of specialist knowledge at my disposal. My areas of focus include:

Trauma diagnostics & trauma history taking

Resource-oriented stabilisation: resource screening based on the KReST model

Trauma synthesis & integration: effective help with acute stress reactions, interactional trauma symptoms (“the frozen mobile”) and traumatic grief

Stabilisation techniques for families: systemic support and trauma integration for children and parents

Primary and secondary traumatisation: support for those affected and for their relatives (e.g. helpers)

POSSIBLE CAUSES OF TRAUMATISATION

Whether a situation has a traumatic effect depends greatly on your inner experience, your age and the coping mechanisms (resources) available to you. Common triggers for a need for trauma therapy are:

  • Shock traumas and existential crises
  • Natural disasters, war, combat deployments or terrorist attacks
  • Accidents involving serious injuries, medical procedures or physical violence
  • Experiences of fleeing, torture and displacement

Loss and interpersonal traumas

  • The sudden death of a parent in childhood or the loss of your own child/a loved one
  • Sexual assault, rape and sexualised violence
  • Severe emotional or physical neglect in childhood

So-called “micro-traumas” and chronic strains

Events that appear less dramatic at first glance can nevertheless trigger intense helplessness:

  • Long-lasting manipulation, bullying or emotional abuse
  • Personal attacks, insults and corporal punishment
  • Divorce, separation or a birth experienced as traumatic

MY METHODS: EMDR AND THE KReST MODEL

In my practice I tailor the treatment individually to your needs. In doing so I use scientifically recognised and well-proven methods:

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing): One of the most successful methods for processing trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). You can find out more under the menu item [link to EMDR].
  • KReST model: Resource screening and trauma synthesis for gentle stabilisation and working through.
  • Couples therapy for PTSD: When one partner’s traumatic experiences place a strain on the relationship, we work out understanding and new coping strategies together in order to take the pressure off the partnership.

Important note: therapy via the “Fonds sexueller Missbrauch” (FSM)

Since 2023 I have been working as a therapist for the Fonds Sexueller Missbrauch im familiären Bereich (FSM) (Fund for Victims of Sexual Abuse in the Family). It is aimed at people who had to experience sexualised violence within the family as children or adolescents and who still suffer from the consequences today.

⚠ Current notice on cost coverage (as of 2026):
The award of new benefits in kind through the fund has been discontinued for applications that were not approved by the end of 2025. Therapies that have already begun, as well as approved applications, will however continue to be fully supported until the end of the treatment. If you already have an approval in hand, I will gladly accompany you as a recognised therapist.
